On my walk early this morning I took a slightly different route so I could stop at the grocery store on the way back to the house. It was foggy and quiet. I walked through a neighborhood that had a lot of pretty gardens where I could see the evidence of gardening going on. Fresh piles of topsoil, mounds of pulled weeds on the driveway. Freshly dug and planted flower beds. And so much in bloom. It was really nice.
I came home and made coffee and read the emails I haven't had time for all week, including the most recent Outside the Lines newsletter, which talked about Positive Deviance as a catalyst for change. It clarified for me a lot of what I've been thinking about in my work recently, and solidified some of the things I've been trying to create with our team but haven't really been able to articulate. Really good.
Yesterday we released some software we've been working on for many months, and it was good to finally have closure on that project. I'm feeling a bit battered from the experience, and am going to take a bit of a rest, do some traveling, visit with some friends. Catch my breath and get some balance back so I can go back and really be useful to our organization again.
I would like to go for a morning walk with you some time. Perhaps one day next week if you are still at home?
