I have filled our home with flowers again this weekend. Two huge vases of tulips, irises, and fruit tree branches just about to burst forth, and filling the living room with scent their intoxicating scent, a boquet of stargazers, irises and pink gerberas. On the mantle, a jelly jar full of rosemary bush trimmings. I'm fascinated by the sensual curl of the petals of the lilies.
It was a glorious, spring-feeling weekend, good for tidying the garden, tidying the house, making plans (for house projects, for art projects, for travel), for installing the knobs and drawer pulls (finally) in our kitchen, for replacing burnt-out bulbs, for making good food. Unfortunately, for Lisa, also a weekend of being sick.
these sketches are really beautiful. makes me feel like drawing today...

Ah, someone who shares my passion for flowers. I keep waiting to get tired of painting them, but there is always something new, and they are just so pretty. Love your sketches. Get some of your paintings photographed and share!
