Since Lisa and Wiget moved out, Riley has started to purr. Previously that was a really rare occurrence. But recently, any time I pet him he rumbles. He has a deep bass purr motor. His whole throat vibrates. It feels like a gift. This afternoon I was in the living room reading when he came in from the garage where he'd been sleeping, and he started purring before I even touched him. He was just happy to see me.
I can think of no sound more healing to an aching heart than the sound of a cat purring.
....mmmm, warm and fuzzy....

I have a cat that looks just like this one. He purrs as soon as he sees me and you're right about the sound. Mine is 17 years old.

So glad you have a best friend in furry pajamas to keep you company. Thinking of you today. . .

Agreed. It's a soothing, comforting sound.
